A Laramie man who announced his candidacy for a seat representing Area A on the Albany County School District No. 1 Board of Education no longer faces a misdemeanor charge of property destruction brought against him in Albany County Circuit Court.

A motion requesting dismissal of the single charge "in the interest of justice" was filed by Deputy Albany County Attorney Ava E. Bell on June 17, less than one week after Clark's arrest. Bell declined to comment Thursday afternoon.

"The local law enforcement, nearby nursing staff and community of first-responders treated me well," Clark said Thursday. "I am forever thankful."

Clark says he has not decided whether or not he will continue his pursuit of the school board seat. He announced his candidacy May 12, running alongside Laramie High School advocate and LGBT advocate Rihanna Kelver.

Three Area A incumbents will be up for re-election in November: Lawrence Perea, Julie Radosevich and Trish Penny.

Clark is a University of Wyoming graduate and a native of Nampa, Idaho. He graduated from Boise High School in 1998.
