In their only game of the week, the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team will be on the road to face the San José State Spartans. The game is set for Saturday, January 18, beginning at 3:00 p.m. MT. Wyoming is 11-3 overall and 2-1 in MW action after a seven point win, 55-48, over Boise State last Saturday in Laramie. Kayla Woodward is averaging a team high 16.6 points plus 7.0 rebounds, while Fallon Lewis is adding 14.9 points and a team high 9.2 rebounds. Kaitlyn Mileto follows with 13.5 points and Marquelle Dent leads the way with 4.2 assists plus 9.9 points per game.

As a team, the Cowgirls are shooting 356-865 (.412) from the field while averaging 41.7 rebounds and 72.1 points per game. Wyoming is third in the league in assists, scoring offense and defense and fourth in field goal and three-point percentage.

San José State enters the game 7-9 overall and 1-4 in MW play. Last time out, they defeated Air Force, 79-70, for their first conference win. They are led by Ta'Re Cunnigan who is averaging a team high 18.3 points plus 5.0 rebounds. Riana Byrd is averaging a team high 9.8 rebounds plus 9.5 points. They return five starters and six letterwinners to a team that went 11-19 overall and 8-10 in the WAC last season.

This will be the third meeting between the two schools. Wyoming has won the only two meetings. The last time the two teams met was February 22, 1997 as the Cowgirls defeated the Spartans, 86-53, in Laramie. They are coached by Jamie Craighead who is in her first season with the program.
