Behind 23 points from Marquelle Dent, the Wyoming Cowgirls topped the Boise State Broncos 61-56 Tuesday in the Quarterfinals of the Reese's Mountain West Women's Basketball Championships in Las Vegas.

Wyoming (20-10) led by one at halftime, 25-24. The Cowgirls built their lead to 10 points on three different times in the second half, but back came the Broncos.

Boise State (17-13) rallied with a 10-2 run over a two minute span late in the game. That made the score 58-56 in favor of UW. In the final 30 seconds, Dent made a pair of free throws, and Kayla Woodward added one, as the Cowgirls prevailed by five.

Dent added six assists and four rebounds to go with her 23 points. Woodward finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Wyoming won despite shooting only 31.3 percent from the field. They made up for it in two ways. UW went 16-20 from the free throw line and out-rebounded Boise State 45-35.

The Cowgirls move on to the semifinals Friday afternoon. They will take on top seed Colorado State at 1 p.m., MDT.
