It’s been a perfect start to the season for the Wyoming Cowgirls on the soccer field. They remained undefeated Tuesday with a 2-0 victory at Idaho State.

Sophomore Taylor Burton scored in the 35th minute off a corner kick from senior Sammi Dunda. In the 55th minute of action, sophomore Annika Clayton headed a free ball in the box past the Bengals keeper for an unassisted goal.

Junior Georgia Rowntree made six saves for a second straight shutout.

In a release from the university head coach Pete Cuadrado said, “I thought it was a great team effort today. A lot of people played and got some good minutes. It was nice to finally start capitalizing off of corner kicks, and putting up another shutout is something that the team takes pride in.”

The Cowgirls return home Friday against Montana. Match time is at 5 p.m.
