Cowgirl Fatima Thiam to Miss Another Season with Knee Injury

Wyoming Cowgirl basketball head coach Joe Legerski said redshirt freshman Fatima Thiam suffered a knee injury while jumping up to block a shot in practice earlier this week and will undergo ACL surgery.

Legerski made the announcement after Thiam did not dress for the game against Weber State on Friday night. Thiam redshirted last season after tearing the ACL in her other knee.

"It's a very difficult situation for a tremendous young lady," said Legerski. "We're very positive that she'll recover and come back and just keep fighting...but unfortunately we've lost her for the year."

Legerski said they may try for a medical hardship so that she does not lose a season of eligibility.
