Four Cowgirls scored in double figures to lead Wyoming to an easy exhibition victory over Adams State, 90-41, last Thursday in Laramie.

Freshman Rachelle Tucker led UW with 14 points. Senior Marquelle Dent scored 12 and dished out seven assists. Freshman Marta Gomez chipped in 11 points and nine rebounds, while sophomore Liv Roberts added ten points and seven rebounds.

The Cowgirls never trailed in the game. They began with a 12-4 lead midway through the first quarter and steadily pulled away for a 23-11 edge. It was 39-23 at halftime. In the third, a 16-5 run by Wyoming put the game out of reach.

Head coach Joe Legerski said, "I thought for an exhibition game it went a little better than we planned going in… We were also able to get our younger players valuable minutes, but our youth definitely shows."

Wyoming held Adams State to 28 percent shooting. The Cowgirls were also plus-34 on the glass and knocked down 32-of-42 free throws (76%).

The Grizzlies were led by Cydney McHenry with nine points.

The Cowgirls will officially open the 2015-16 season Sunday, November 15 at home against Chadron State. Game time is at 4 p.m.
