Larry Nance Jr. scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Wyoming Cowboys in a dominant 76-53 victory over Utah State Wednesday in Laramie.

The win capped off a special night for the five members of this year's senior class. They were honored in a ceremony prior to the game.

Wyoming (22-8, 11-6) used a 10-0 run that bridged halftime to take control. They led 45-30 just over two minutes into the second period and led by double figures the rest of the way.

Three other Cowboys scored in double digits. Josh Adams had 17 points and eight assists off the bench. Derek Cooke Jr. scored 11, and Alan Herndon added 10 off the bench.

The Pokes shot 56 percent from the field. They also registered a season-high 26 assists on 30 made field goals. UW committed a season-low six turnovers.

As one would think, it was a jovial atmosphere for the five seniors in the post-game press conference.

Utah State (18-11, 11-6) was led by Chris Smith with 18 points. The Aggies shot 46 percent, but their 11 turnovers led to 15 points for Wyoming.

The Cowboys knocked down 10 of their first 12 shots. That gave them a 24-12 edge midway through the first half. Utah State closed within four near the five minute mark, but UW was able to push back to a 10 point halftime advantage.

The outcome also produced two signifcant stats. The victory was the 17th for the Pokes in the Arena Auditorium this season. That is a new single-season record. Also, head coach Larry Shyatt became the fastest Cowboy coach to reach 100 wins at UW.

Wyoming will finish the regular season Saturday at New Mexico. The game will start at 6 p.m.
