Larry Nance, Jr. scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Luke Martinez scored 11 points and Josh Adams added 10, as the Wyoming Cowboys won their second exhibition game 61-46 over the College of Wooster at the Arena-Auditorium Saturday night. A 20-6 run over a nine minute span of the second half keyed the UW victory.

The Cowboys led 41-37 with 12:46 left in the game, when their defense stifled the Fighting Scots and held them to two field goals the rest of the way. UW allowed the College of Wooster to shoot just 30.4 percent from the field in the second half. They out-rebounded the Fighting Scots by 11 in the final 20 minutes of action.

Head Coach Larry Shyatt said, "I like the fact that we tried to guard the way I'd like us to guard."

Wyoming got the quick start they were looking for. The Pokes jumped out 11-2, but the College of Wooster fought their way back in it and tied it at 11. The Fighting Scots took an 18-14 lead with 9:04 left in the first half. Down 19-18, the Cowboys went on a 14-5 spurt over the final 6:45 of the first half and led 32-24 at the break. Martinez scored all 11 of his points in the first period, which included a pair of 3's.

In the first six minutes of the second period, the Pokes pushed the lead to 10, at 41-31, but College of Wooster answered with two 3-pointers and trimmed the deficit to four, when UW went on their big run. Adams had six points in a two-and-a-half minute stretch that helped the Cowboys to a 53-40 advantage with 8:09 to play.

Nine different Cowboys played double figure minutes in the game, which is something Coach Shyatt wanted. "I liked the fact that we were able to play a couple of games here, and a couple of games in Canada, and give everybody an opportunity to just put the uniform on and run up and down," said Shyatt.

Wyoming plays officially starts the 2012-13 season next Saturday night, when the Cowboys host Western State at the Double-A. Tip-off is at 8 pm. Coverage on Y95 Country begins at 7:30 pm.
