After sweeping their Fourth of July tournament, the Colts were back in action Tuesday against the New Mexico Renegades.

Laramie ended up dropping both games in the double header to New Mexico, losing the first game 5-3 and the second game 18-2.

Colts Manager James Clark said the first game was a pitchers duel and Laramie ended up just falling short. Clark said that his team ran out of pitchers in the second game and committed too many errors and fell behind early.

“We ran out of pitching, played a lot of our guys who don’t play much and we didn’t play much defense,” Clark said. “The guys that threw hadn’t really thrown all year.”

Game stats were not available for either game.

Laramie will be back in action today at Cowboy Field when they are set to take on the Boulder Collegians at 5pm.

“Hopefully the guys are a little more focused tomorrow, I know today was a little tough on them but I think they understand that tomorrow is a big game and they will come ready to play,” Clark said.

The Colts will host their third and final tournament of the year this weekend when they host the Denver Bats, Black Bears and Team Colorado for the Laramie GM Auto Tournament.

“Were only a game and a half out of first place; a lot of things could happen between now and Sunday” Clark said.

Laramie will play twice on Friday, three games Saturday and two more on Sunday. For more information about the Colts schedule, click here.
