The Laramie Colts are set to return to action this weekend when they visit the undefeated Black Bears and the Arvada Colts. Both match-ups will be doubleheaders.

Though the Arvada Colts and Black Bears are two of the best teams featured in the Rocky Mountain Baseball League, Laramie Coach James Clark said he felt confident his team could compete with both teams.

“Obviously both teams are pretty good so we have to come out with probably our best lineup in at least a couple of the games,” said Clark. “It’s probably going to be one of the toughest weekends we’ve got all year.”

Laramie has not played since Sunday’s loss to Impact Sports in Denver. Clark said they’ve filled the down time with some inter-squad scrimmages during the week. Laramie will be getting used to a sporadic schedule like this due to the fact a majority of their games are separated by at least a few days. Clark added that it will most likely help out his players in the long run.

“A lot of times you play every day and it gets to be a real grind. I think this gives us a chance to rest a little bit and recover,” Clark said.

Saturday's double header against the Black Bears will be in Littleton, CO. The first pitch is set for noon. In the battle of the Colts, Sunday's doubleheader will be in Arvada, CO with the first game starting at 11 a.m..
