UPDATE: The Laramie Fire Department No.1 has identified the cause of the fire - Thor Rasmussen of LFD No. 1 said a stove top burner left on was what caused the trailer to catch fire.

==================================================================

The Laramie Fire Department No. 1 responded to a report of a structure fire in the 1100 block of West Baker Street near the KOA campground late Saturday night, according to a Laramie Fire Department report.  The initial call time was 10:30 p.m., and the first arriving Laramie Fire Department Engine arrived on scene at 10:36 p.m.

The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes and no other structures were damaged.  The homeowner was able to exit the structure before the arrival of Fire Department. The structure was a total loss.  Three engines, one truck and two ambulances responded to the call.

The homeowner was treated and transported to Ivinson Memorial Hospital for evaluation and smoke inhalation.

Local 946 union gave a “burnout” check to the homeowner.  A burnout check is given to individuals who are displaced by a structure fire and lose property, valuables, and other important items destroyed by fire.  The check allows them to get food, a hotel room, clothes, and simple items like a toothbrush.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
