April 11, 2013 The spring portion of the high school rodeo season will commence April 13 and 14, as Laramie will host two days of competition at the Cliff and Martha Hansen Livestock Teaching Arena on Highway 230. This is the first of eight rodeos on the spring schedule that leads up to the State Finals in Douglas, June 5-9, 2013.

Laramie’s own Holly Kennedy will be kicking off her year as Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2013 with a Coronation Ball on October 20th at WyoTech’s West Laramie Campus. The event will include dinner, dancing, a silent auction and a live auction to help Kennedy raise funds for her year as Wyoming rodeo royalty.

A 91-point bull ride was the reward for those in attendance at the final PRCA Rodeo Performance for Laramie Jubilee Days on Sunday afternoon at the Albany County Fairgrounds. The ride on Full Throttle made Ardie Maier $3,847.50 richer and gave a fitting close to the 2012 edition of Laramie Jubilee Days.

The bulls may have gotten the best of most of the cowboys, but the crowd was the ultimate winner at the Mr. T Classic Xtreme Bull Riding on Wednesday night at the Albany County Fairgrounds. The bulls from Burns Rodeo Company bucked all but two professional bull riders and put on a heck of a show in the process.
Summer is approaching and soon enough it’ll be that time of the year again folks! The 2012 Laramie Jubilee Days will be in full swing starting July 7th. Since its first appearance in the 1940’s, Jubilee Days has evolved from a day long statehood celebration to a week of fun-filled activities. S
