Campbell Trophy Semifinalists Includes Wyoming’s Chase Roullier

Wyoming senior center Chase Roullier has been chosen as one of 156 semifinalists for the 2016 William V. Campbell Trophy.

The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) awards the Campbell Trophy presented by Fidelity Investments each year. It is recognized as college football’s premier scholar-athlete award. These individuals come from all divisions of college football.

Roullier, No. 73, is pursuing his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at UW and is on schedule to graduate in December 2016. He has achieved a 3.206 cumulative grade-point average.

Earlier this year, Roullier was named to both the 2016 Outland Trophy Award Watch List and the 2016 Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List. He was a Second Team All-Mountain West selection as a junior last season. MW media also voted him as a 2016 Preseason First Team All-Conference selection. He has started 32 of 38 career games he has played in at Wyoming, and has been voted a team captain by his teammates each of the last two seasons.

Roullier is a three-time Academic All-Mountain West Conference selection. He’s made the Dean’s List three times in his career and was the 2013 UW Football Team Scholar-Athlete Award Recipient. Roullier has been involved with a number of community service projects.

From the list of 156 semifinalists, 12 to 14 finalists will be announced Nov. 1 to the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class. Each finalist receives an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship. Those finalists for the 2016 Campbell Award will travel to New York City for the 59th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 6. The winner of the Campbell Award will be announced at the NFF Awards Dinner and will receive an additional $7,000 in scholarship money to increase his overall postgraduate scholarship to $25,000.
