UNDATED (AP) — Make it seven straight wins for the Detroit Tigers after they roughed up the Rangers in Texas.

Rick Porcello tossed his first career shutout and Miguel Cabrera had four hits as the Tigers blanked the Rangers 6-0. Porcello held Texas to three singles and benefitted from three double plays as he improved to 10-4.

Austin Jackson hit a two-run single for the Tigers, who lead the AL Central by 4 1/2 games over Kansas City. Detroit was 1 1/2 games behind the Royals just before their winning streak began.

The Los Angeles Angels are within 3 ½ games of the AL West lead after completing a 6-0 homestand.

Mike Trout and Albert Pujols (POO'-hohlz) drove in two runs apiece to lead the Angels' 6-4 triumph against Minnesota. Pujols also scored twice and had three of the Angels' 14 hits.

Jared Weaver improved to 8-6 by holding the Twins to a run and eight hits in seven innings.

Also in the majors:

— Matt Dominguez was in an 0-for-23 slump before belting a three-run homer that helped the Astros down the Braves 6-1 and avoid a three-game sweep. Rookie George Springer also homered to back Jarred Cosart, who's 8-5 after allowing six hits in seven innings for his fourth straight win.

— The Cubs squandered a 3-0 lead before Justin Ruggiano's two-run double broke a 3-3 tie in the seventh inning of a 5-3 win over Washington in Chicago. Starlin Castro poked a two-run single in the Cubs' three-run fourth.

— J.A. Happ was terrific in Toronto's 7-0 shutout of the Chicago White Sox, fanning eight while allowing four hits over 7 2/3 innings. Jose Reyes was 4-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Adam Lind chipped in three hits and three ribbies.

— Aramis (ah-RAH'-mihs) Ramirez and Scooter Gennett hit two-run homers, and Rickie Weeks went 3-for-4 with a solo shot in Milwaukee's 7-4 downing of Colorado. Wily Peralta (WIH'-lee peh-RAHL'-tah) struck out seven over six innings to pick up his ninth win and help the Brewers stretch their lead in the NL Central to 5 ½ games over St. Louis.

— Adam Wainwright went the distance on a five-hitter but gave up Justin Turner's RBI single in the eighth inning of the Dodgers' 1-0 win over St. Louis in Los Angeles. Josh Beckett settled for a no-decision after scattering four hits in seven innings.

— Mike Leake struck out 12 and gave up just one run and four hits in eight innings to pitch Cincinnati past San Francisco 3-1, keeping the Giants' lead in the NL West at two games over the Dodgers. Brandon Phillips hit a solo homer and Jay Bruce was 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

— Rookie Gregory Polanco hit a three-run homer and had four RBIs as Pittsburgh downed the New York Mets 5-2. Vance Worley is 2-0 with a 1.74 ERA after limiting the Mets to a run and seven hits in seven innings.

— Philadelphia beat Miami 5-3 on Chase Utley's two-run homer in the bottom of the 14th. Utley had three hits and three RBIs for the Phillies, who tied the game on first baseman Jeff Baker's error in the seventh.
