Breakfast with Santa is back for its ninth year, and it is guaranteed to be a favorite for kids this holiday season.

Breakfast with Santa takes place on Saturday, December 6 at the Civic Center located at 710 East Garfield and will be in the north gym. It begins at 8 a.m. and goes until noon.

Tickets for the event are $6 for children and $3 for adults. Tickets include a breakfast of pancakes, bacon and ham. Drinks for the kids include juice and water, and unlimited coffee is provided to adults.

Professional photographs with Santa are also included in the ticket price. Frames are provided with the photos.

Activities at the event include crafts, cookie decorating, Letters to Santa, and more.

Event organizer Terri Longhurst says the event is a popular one for kids and families. She says last year alone approximately 350 photos with Santa were taken.

The gym is transformed into a winter wonderland for the whole family, says Longhurst. There will be between 20 and 25 living and 20 to 25 artificial trees decorated in the gym creating the holiday feel. Many of the trees are then raffled off to families for only one dollar.

Longhurst says the event is made possible primarily by volunteers. She says about 45 people will be volunteering at the event itself, but many others volunteer for set-up, tear-down, donations, decorations, cooking, and in other ways.

Longhurst adds that there will be a toy cart for donations to the Head Start program. Anyone with new or gently used toys may donate to the toy cart to benefit families in Head Start. She says this is a great way to give back to other groups in the community.

Those wishing to participate can show up any time between 8 a.m. and noon. The Polar Express movie will be shown at the Gryphon Theatre for free at 1 p.m. for anyone wishing to stay and watch.

Tickets to the event may be purchased at the Civic Center, Hospice of Laramie, First Interstate Bank, and ANB Bank. Tickets will be sold at the door the day of the event as well.
