The Wyoming Cowboys added a standout junior college transfer and high school champion to their roster last Friday.

Head coach Mark Branch announced the signing of Wesley Schultz from Sun Prairie, WI and Mark McConnell from Lander, WY.

Schultz was an NJCAA runner-up and All-American at 184 pounds last season at Iowa Lakes Community College. He also was a Wisconsin state high school champion in 2014 at Sun Prairie High School. His senior season he took the title at 182 pounds and finished with a 47-0 record. He added a fifth place effort at the 2014 USA Wrestling Junior Folkstyle Nations and earned All-America honors.

McConnell is a two-time state champion for the Tigers. He won the crown at 113 pounds as a junior and at 106 as a sophomore. McConnell took third place at 126 pounds last season. He was also a champion of the Ron Thon “Best of the Best” Memorial Wrestling Tournament as a junior.

This duo joins five more signees in the 2016 recruiting class for Coach Branch and the Cowboys.
