Bonfires-Ask the City
Is it legal for people to have bonfires in their backyards within city limits?
"A recreational fire burning materials other than rubbish is allowed. These fires shall be constantly attended by a responsible person until the fire is extinguished. This fire shall not exceed a fuel area of 3 feet or less in diameter and 2 feet or less in height for pleasure, religious, ceremonial, cooking, warmth, or similar purposes. These recreational fires shall not be permitted within 25 feet of a structure or combustible materials. Also, the recently adopted 2015 International Fire Code addresses open burning, recreational fires, and portable outdoor fireplaces in section 307.
Additional questions can be directed to the City Fire Marshal at 307-721-5330."
Ask the City Of Laramie is your chance to send the city that burning question that you have always wondered about such as: “Where can I get a city parking permit?” or “Why did my water usage rates go through the roof?”
