UNDATED (AP) — St. Louis' late season slide has cost them the NHL Central Division title. The Blues dropped a 3-0 decision to Detroit for their sixth straight loss. That gave the division title to Colorado, which closed out its season at Anaheim last night.

Petr Mrazek turned aside 23 shots to hand the Blues their second straight shutout and third in six games. Justin Abdelkader (AB'-dul-kay-dur) scored twice for the Red Wings.

The Western Conference division champions tuned up for the playoffs in Anaheim, where the Ducks trailed 2-0 in the third period before beating the Avalanche 3-2 in overtime. Patrick Maroon and Saku Koivu (SAK'-oo KOY'-voo) scored 3:13 apart early in the third period before Nick Bonino ended the game 93 seconds into OT.

In other NHL season finales:

— Tampa Bay has wrapped up home-ice advantage for their first-round playoff series against Montreal by edging Washington 1-0 in a shootout. Matthew Carle scored the only goal in the shootout to help the Lightning clinch second place in the Atlantic Division.

— New Jersey beat Boston 3-2 as Martin Brodeur made 16 saves in what might have been the last start in a 20-year career with the Devils. The soon-to-be 42-year-old Brodeur is in the final year of his contract and is likely to test the free-agent market now that he has become the backup to Cory Schneider.

— Eric Staal scored the only goal of the shootout to give Carolina a 6-5 season-closing win over Philadelphia in a wide open affair that saw the two teams record a combined 82 shots on goal. Staal also scored twice in regulation.

— Kyle Turris scored once in regulation and again in a shootout as Ottawa outlasted Pittsburgh 3-2. Turris and Mark Stone each had power-play goals against the Penguins, who limp into the playoffs after going 7-7-3 over their last 17 games.

— Craig Smith scored twice and had two assists while Nashville was scoring the last six goals in a 7-3 win at Minnesota. Calle Jamkrok added a goal and two assists to the rout.

— Dave Moss scored with 2:31 left and Phoenix avoided a season-ending eight-game losing streak by nipping Dallas 2-1. Thomas Greiss stopped 16 shots for the Coyotes, who finished two points behind the Stars for the final Western Conference playoff berth.

— Daniel Sedin (she-DEEN') scored twice before he was taken off the ice on a stretcher in the second period of Vancouver's 5-1 rout of Calgary. Sedin was fitted with a neck brace and placed on a backboard after being hit from behind by Flames center Paul Byron.

— Brock Nelson scored the tying goal with 3:46 left in regulation before netting the lone shootout goal in the New York Islanders' 4-3 win at Buffalo.
