As temperatures begin to cool and local area hunters take to the outdoors, the Bureau of Land Management reminds that fire restrictions are still in place.

Restrictions implemented by the BLM field offices in Buffalo, Casper, and Newcastle remain in effect. Fire management officer, Kirk Strom says even though daytime temperatures are cooling, range conditions are still extremely dry and risks of large wildfires are still high.

So, until significant weather changes occur, restrictions remain.

He says several large fires in the state continue to burn and several human caused fires occurred last weekend. Strom asks for the public’s continued cooperation and says the public will be notified when conditions change and fire restrictions are lifted.

Fire restrictions on public lands differ by agency, forest and BLM field office.
