A three day art show beginning August 10th here in Laramie will highlight 11 local artists and their work. The show will feature artists with a variety of interests and mediums. Art including pen and ink drawings, oil paintings, photography, mixed media and pastels will all be featured at the event.

The show will take place at 404 S. Second Street. This building used to be known as Hart’s Alley and is located across from Dodds Shoe Co. The venue was donated by Shawn and Dolores Hart of Laramie. The couple owns the building, which has been vacant for some time. Shawn Hart says he hated to see the building vacant, so he decided to give local artists a chance to display their art for free.

“It’s important that the community support the local artists, and this is one of the few places in town where they can display their art for free,” says Hart.

The show will feature many original works of art, some of them even as large as six feet by four feet in measurement. There are some well known artists showing their work at the art show. Names like Ron McIntosh, Jeanie Schlump, Sean Gote, Michael Vann Gray, Jennifer Faulkner, and more will be showing and selling their art during the show.

The art show is free to the public and will kick off with a reception complete with food at 5 pm on Friday, August 10th. The opening day will close around 9 p.m., but the show will pick back up at 10 a.m. on Saturday and last until 6 p.m. The final day of the show will be on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The last day will be a somewhat laid back celebration of the art show complete with Mimosa Cocktails and coffeecake.

The Laramie Art Show is the newest addition to art in downtown Laramie.
