The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will conduct its 22nd annual "Stamp out Hunger" food drive on Saturday, May 10.

United Way spokeswoman Sara Weber says letter carriers will collect non-perishable food donations as they deliver mail along their postal routes on that day. To participate, just leave a sturdy bag or box containing non-perishable foods, such as canned soup, canned vegetables, canned meat and fish, pasta, rice or cereal next to your mailbox.

Weber says the annual food drive comes at a time of year when most food banks have depleted the donations received in end-of-the-year holiday drives.

Weber says the donations will go to the Comea House, Needs Inc., Safehouse Services, The Salvation Army, St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
