Annual Elks Hoops Shoot Saturday

Laramie Elks Lodge number 582 will be hosting the local competition for the Annual Elks Hoop Shoot, the national free throw shooting contest for boys and girls age 8 through 13 on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Laramie Rec Center. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m and the competition begins at 10 a.m. There is no cost to compete.

The contest is broken down into three age categories for both boys and girls. They are 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13. Your age group is determined by the contestants age as of April 1, 2014.

Each youngster has 25 shots at the hoop. The top boy and girl in each age group will advance through four tiers of competition to qualify for the national finals.

Local winners move on to the District competition in Lusk on January 25, 2014. District winners will compete in the State competition in Casper on February 15, 2014.
