American Teenager Advances At Wimbledon

LONDON (AP) — Madison Keys has reached the third round in her Wimbledon debut by beating 30th-seeded Mona Barthel (MOH'-nuh BAHR'-tehl) of Germany 6-4, 6-2. The 18-year-old American saved the only break point she faced while converting 3 of 10 on Barthel's serve. This marks the second time in the past three Grand Slam tournaments that Keys has made it to the third round. She lost at that stage at the Australian Open in January.

Former French Open champion Li Na (lee nah) recovered from a second-set slump to beat Simona Halep (HA'-lep) 6-2, 1-6, 6-0 to reach the third round at Wimbledon. The sixth-seeded Li advanced to the third round of the grass-court Grand Slam tournament for the fourth time. She lost in the quarterfinals twice at the All England Club.
