Major General Jack Weinstein formally assumed command of the 20th Air Force and Task Force 214, U.S. Strategic Command, during a ceremony Thursday at F.E. Warren Airforce Base. General Weinstein has served as interim commander since October. He is responsible for the nation's intercontinental ballistic missile force, organized into three operational wings with more than 9,600 people. General Weinstein says he has visited all three wings over the past few months and has recommended some changes

"We are going to standardize how we do our missions, so that all the wings do things the same way, we are pushing responsibility down to the appropriate level so everyone that has the mission feels responsible for doing the mission, and by doing that I think we will continue our service of excellence.

In October, General Weinstein, then Vice Commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, was temporarily assigned replace Major General Michael Carey who was fired from the job in response to an investigation into alleged personal misbehavior.
