The Laramie Chamber Business Alliance recently released its 2015 Business Award nominees.

Ballots were sent out over the past week. Winners of each award will be announced at the annual banquet scheduled for Feb. 18.

Nominees for Business Person of the Year are Randal Six of Underwriters Laboratories; Kermit Brown of Brown & Hiser, LLC; Larry Knopp, president of UniWyo Federal Credit Union; and Doug Faus, CEO of Ivinson Memorial Hospital.

“We have a really strong team of employees and leaders,” says Faus.  “I constantly try to think of things to better and never sit back and think of myself as a success.”

Nominees for Business of the Year (Large) are Laramie GM Auto Center; West, Inc.; Premier Bone & Joint Centers; and ANB Bank.

Business of the Year (Small) are Spine & Injury Clinic of Laramie; Scott McFarland, State Farm Insurance; and A-1 Recovery & Towing.

Shane Swett and Nichole Candelaria, co-owners of A-1 Recovery & Towing, say they have lived in Laramie their entire lives.

“Our Annual A-1 Safe Rides Safe Tow Home for New Year’s Eve is an event we’ve held every year that means a lot to us,” says Candelaria.

The Jim Cavalli Service to Others Award honors “selfless service to others in the community to the betterment of Laramie and its residents.” This year’s nominees are the Laramie Office of CLIMB Wyoming; Jason Tangeman of Nicholas & Tangeman, LLC; and Denise Deem of Laramie Plains Federal Credit Union.

The Shuster Award recognizes locally-owned business that has proven to be successful. The nominees are Big Dipper Ice Cream Shop and Aspen Family Chiropractic.
